Set your biscuit jointer up first

The manufacturer's instructions (AKA the manual) for your biscuit jointer will guide you exactly on how to set the biscuit jointer up for the proper biscuit size you'll be inserting into the slot. How to Make Strong Wood Joints

When using the biscuit jointer, set the depth of cut to half the thickness of the pieces you want to join, and you will ensure that the joint is situated right in the middle.
