This is the largest of the Jet open-ended drum sanders and has the capacity to sand boards up to 1,120mm wide (in two passes) by 100mm thick. The drum is balanced to reduce vibration to a minimum and has adjustments so that the drum and table can be set perfectly parallel to each other. The variable speed feed conveyor motor drives the timber through the sander at speeds from 3m/min down to virtual stop so that an excellent finish can be obtained even on the most difficult pieces of grained timber. A major feature is the 'Sand Smart' technology, which gives an automatic reduction of the feed rate to avoid excessive material removal on uneven timbers. Changing the abrasive loading is quick and easy using the self tensioning clip device incorporated into the roller. A pair of feed tables is available as an optional accessory for ease of handling longer lengths of timber.There are three mounting options: 1. Bench mounting as supplied, 2. A closed cabinet stand, as pictured, with integral wheels (609005) and 3. An open frame stand (609004).Supplied with 80 grit loading, 100 grit conveyor belt, cleaning stick, one box of abrasive loadings and service tools.
